NIB is a real chance to find a loved ones and know the truth about them.
As for today, the bureau processes and records about 300 cases on its profile issues. However, there are many more requests. When they do not fall within the competence of the bureau, people are given advice on which authority to turn to.
We will add that the NIB operates in accordance with the norms of international humanitarian law. In particular: Art. 122 of the Geneva Convention relative to the Treatment of Prisoners of War (III) and Art. 136 of the Geneva Convention relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War (IV).
